About On Living Psychotherapy
What does it mean to live a meaningful life?
There is no right answer to that question. Yet, many of us move through life feeling as though we should already know the answer or that we are somehow doing it wrong.
At the heart of On Living is an invitation to explore what a meaningful life looks like, for you. It’s common to become separated from your own life, moving on autopilot, trying to accomplish what you believe you should be doing. You may find yourself comparing your life to others and feeling as though you’re not doing things well enough, without noticing how deeply incomparable your life is. Over time, this can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, from others, and from the sense of aliveness that makes life feel meaningful.
Each of us has such unique inner worlds - we have unique histories, unique sadnesses, unique relationships, unique sensitivities, unique desires, and unique ways of making sense of the world. Given this, it makes so much sense that a meaningful life cannot look the same for everyone.
In therapy, my goal is to offer a space of deep attention where you can slow down and be seen exactly as you are. A space that is quieter than the outside world, and far away from any “shoulds”. In this space, you are invited to become curious about your life from YOUR perspective. We will explore what has been working for you and what hasn’t, what has been scaring you, what parts of you are aching to be seen, what you are longing for, and more. Over time, my hope is that this space helps you relate to yourself with more compassion, creating the room needed to notice and move toward a life that feels meaningful and aligned.
The name On Living suggests an ongoing reflection on the experience of being alive. I see your life as something continually unfolding, rather than something to be figured out. It would be an honor to witness your reflections on living.
